Our aim is to empower young people with the training and skills needed to develop their full abilities so they can become responsible members of society, and so that their life conditions can be improved. We support both young girls and boys via our personal development, empowerment and leadership programmes, supporting young people tohelping them make a successful transition from childhood to adulthood.
The overall aim of the Girlz Empowered and Boyz Excel programmes is to help teenagers aged 11 to 17 years develop a healthy self-esteem and understanding of their own significance in the the world. This comprises of knowing their worth and loving themselves, body appreciation, personal development, setting goals, and identifying their gifts and talents. We will also cover how to deal with negative peer pressure and developing healthy relationships, and offer homework support.
As part of the programme the young people will have access to trained youth leaders who will be available to support them throughout the programme. These programmes are delivered in seven sessions over the course of the year and there is with a graduation ceremony for those who complete at least five sessions.
“I really enjoyed today’s session, I would like more talks from the facilitators. As a teenager most of what they said appealed to me and it made me to think about things that hadn’t crossed my mind before”. To view more testimonials, please click here.
The next session programme starts in September 2013; we therefore encourage parents and youth leaders to reserve a place on the programme for their young people. To register, please contact us.
