Our History

God’s Grace Foundation (GGF) was founded in November 2004 by Dupe Makinde, an accountant by profession, but a woman who has a passion or a calling some might call it, to help children and young people. One of the first major assignments that Dupe undertook was a successful fact-finding mission to Nigeria in January 2005 which was a huge success. The trip involved visiting orphanages and schools in the western region of Nigeria.

As a result of her visit and through the generous support of a small number of sponsors, GGF commenced launched a programme of the sponsorship of for children in September 2005 that year. Support includeds paying tuition fees for the year, paying for all school supplies (books; stationery; school uniform), regular medical care, mentoring and providing a cooked meal a day for each child.  As more kind-hearted people give towards the work of the Foundation, more needy children in Nigeria will be reached. Our goal is for this programme to be extended to other African countries in the coming years.

The programme for the United Kingdom is to encourage young people to create positive, attention-grabbing futures, challenging and motivating them to believe in themselves, to aim high in school/college, work or leisure, to develop social skills, and to manage adolescence and choose healthier lifestyles.
